Search and Rescue Interviewing

This course is designed to provide guidance to SAR Incident Commanders, county SAR Coordinators and other search managers on best practices and techniques in conducting SAR interviews for lost, missing, and overdue persons. Information provided as to what type of questions to ask, why can’t law enforcement do it, why is interviewing so important, post incident interviewing and other aspects related to conducting interviews. This course will provide classroom instruction, critique of actual SAR interviews and exercising on how to conduct SAR interviews. This course is not intended for the entire squad and needs to be limited to only those personnel with responsibility of conducting interview(s). Entire course will be held in a classroom environment. Class will be from 6:00pm until 10:00pm Eastern Time.
